Mar 20 – After a week of ups and downs in both the Indices and the VIX the bulls and the bears still enter the week on equal footing. The bears have done a great job the past week or so but the bigger picture still favors the bulls. Will we get some information this week that helps us better understand where we’ll be headed over the summer?

Mar 18 – Another big move today by the markets as the bulls tried to recover some lost ground from earlier in the week. Options Expiration didn’t disappoint as the volatility was all over the place most of the week. Wednesday was really the only day the markets rested and while the moves mostly came at the start of the day the end result was still a strong finish to the week by the bulls.

Mar 17 – A big gap up to start the day but not a whole to talk about since then. The volatility of options expiration has really been working this week and we still have one day left. The support areas on the weekly charts will be the targets for the bulls to get back above and hold by tomorrow’s close but they still have some work ahead of them.

Mar 16 – Sorry everyone. I only had time to do a video for the subscribers today. As summer starts to get closer I’ll be doing more outdoors with the family so the free daily market videos may be a bit sporadic from week to week. I’ll always do my best to get one done but there’s isn’t always time when the weather gets warm!

No follow through on the SPX hammer candle from yesterday as I mentioned in yesterday’s video and the bears are starting to show some real strength. Another good move today and our short positions in the Indices are really starting to pay off with a gain of about 40-50 points so far. This trend is starting to pick up steam and while I’m moving my stops I’m not quite ready to run away from my bear positions quite yet! Let’s see if the bulls even try to make a move before the end of the week and recover some lost ground. AAPL took a whooping today in the aftermath and moves below the levels of $340 I gave you yesterday turned out to be VERY nice profits and it fell and stopped right at perfect support! A very easy trade to make today for $8-$10 profits. FAZ above $43 or $43.50 as recommended worked out beautifully as well today. If you’ve been playing along you should have made money today!

I’ll do my best to get a video out to you tomorrow which I don’t think will be a problem. Good trading today and let’s see if the bears can continue their work into the end of the week!

Mar 15 – After a sharp decline in the markets to start the day there was a bit of a bounce that lasted most of the day. This puts a pretty large hammer candle on the SPX daily chart. Is this indicative of a change in direction coming into tomorrow?

Free Market Video Mar 14 2011

Mar 14- The fallout in Japan took a MAJOR toll on the Nikkei today as their markets dropped 6%! That would be as if the SPX had fallen today to around 1215 or the DOW dropping to 11300 or so! Amazing. The markets here in the States and abroad were a lot less volatile but we did manage to break some lower levels giving some people the opportunity to enter or extend their short positions. With this being the start of Options Expiration week we should expect some more volatility as the week progresses.

Mar 13- Will the meltdown news in Japan have a meltdown effect on the markets here in the States? Futures are not yet open so it’s anyone’s guess but with the sustained levels in the VIX this past week it will be interesting to see if the markets react negatively to the news. Last week’s subscribers picks of GOOG, CF, CVC, DRYS, HON are all discussed.

Mar 11 – Ten points were reclaimed on the SPX today and it still appears neither side really wants to make a move in the bigger picture. The bears really needed some kind of confirmation to solidify their move from yesterday but they still don’t seem to have the power.
