Free Market Video Feb 28 2011

Feb 28 – An interesting end to the month but not something unexpected. I gave in the weekend video some levels to watch for entries and while most of those were hit they still didn’t show a ton of bullish push behind them. The next few days will be interesting to watch as the bulls try to make sissies of the bears once again. If the bears can hold this thing at least sideways for a day or two that could make things VERY interesting for the end of the week.

Feb 27 – A new week of trading is here but will we start this one the way we started last week? The bulls managed to save a little dignity with a rally late in the week but further analysis shows they didn’t necessarily do enough to shatter what the bears had already accomplished.

Feb 25 – The bears had a shot at pounding away at the 50 day moving averages but the bulls weren’t going to go out that way for the week. I find it funny how the media has been blaming the current drop in the markets on the rising oil prices but today both the markets AND oil are up. There are still no real divergences within the dollar and the markets or oil and the markets. They all seem to have a mind of their own right now. That may change at a later time but for right now we have to follow the charts. See you all again on Sunday!

Free Market Video Feb 24 2011

Feb 24 – A little more muted today in the markets as things were sideways overall. We did manage to reach some sub 1300 levels for a while on the SPX but by the end of the day there was a small bounce to get things back above that line in the sand. The DOW was especially interesting today as the bounce happened at a perfect support level and is the last of the major Indices that hasn’t broken the pattern we’ve been following for numerous weeks.

Feb 23 – The bears come through with some confirmation today and another good move down in the markets where they finally were able to break and close below the 20 day moving averages. The internals weren’t quite as strong in their confirmation today so while there is still a little caution that should be used I do believe a pat on the back for the bears is at least in order considering the thumping they’ve been taking lately. The NASDAQ has really been the whipping child lately and almost failed to stay above its 50 day moving average by the time the day finished. Three weeks of work by the bulls have basically been wiped clean in the past two days by the bears. What? You don’t’ know how to short the market? Time to invest in the mentoring education….these bear moves are a BLAST to play!

Feb 22 – A red candle? What in the world does THAT represent? It has been a staple lately that mentioning the word ‘bear’ and ‘strength’ were in no way synonymous with market action but today we get to change all of that….for at least a day anyways. Today the market was a strong day for the bears. The charts show it and the internals confirmed it all day long. There’s just one thing left to mention. We haven’t broken the larger areas of lower support I’ve been talking about for the last few weeks. Will those FINALLY go in the next few days?

Feb 21 – The breaking news in Libya and the surge in oil prices has had a profound effect so far on the market futures. Futures are down as of right now but it’s still anyone’s guess where we will open tomorrow morning. Until the markets open I can only base my analysis off of what the charts are currently telling me and stick to the mantra……..the bulls love to buy the dips. Any continued weakness into the evening could leave us with a lot to watch coming into tomorrow mornings open. Let’s see if any move to the downside actually sticks this time. Last week’s subscribers picks of ABC, CBI, PNR, and SBUX are also discussed along with the audio from the subscribers video of Sunday the 13th.

Feb 18 ** I forgot to mention in the video that there is NO trading on Monday. Markets are CLOSED. Enjoy the 3 day weekend! ** AAPL fell apart today but the rest of the markets were pretty muted into the end of the week. The bears tried to do some damage to the NASDAQ but overall the push wasn’t all that strong and the bulls didn’t’ have a problem fending them off. Lather, rinse, repeat!

Free Market Video Feb 17 2011

Feb 17 – Another run, albeit slow run, by the bulls today. Gap down and buy it up. The markets did move pretty consistently all day but gave no consolation to the put buyers coming into the end of the week. AAPL didn’t fare so well today and the mighty run looks to finally be slowing just a bit. Let’s watch and see if the traders buy it up tomorrow. I’ve had some very good success again this week with my subscriber picks as well. I’ll show them to you this weekend again. I’ve really liked the stocks better lately and have felt more comfortable trading them. Tomorrow may be very interesting!

Feb 16 – After a mid day shake down the bulls jumped right back into the ever popular ‘buy the dip’ mantra and once again finish the day like a bunch of rock stars. This concludes the one to two day consolidation that started on Monday and may be setting up for yet another push upwards into the end of the week. All levels remain in place for the bear entries.
