Free Market Video Jan 31 2011

Jan 31 – A small pop in the markets today but nothing that was overly convincing by the bulls. We may see the same type of movement tomorrow but I’m watching to see if the overhead resistance levels will hold. If they can hold for another day we may then see the bears come back into the picture. Later in the week is some economic data that may have a big effect on the markets and that may be what investors are waiting for. Last week my subscribers played ACGL, CAT, MELI, and WYNN. Jan 30 – Egypt was apparently the reason the news gave to the drop in Friday’s market. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that we’re just simply over extended and the markets are in dire need of a pullback. Naw…..let’s go with the Egypt thing. If that’s the case then let’s see if there’s any follow through by the bears this week in anticipation of the jobs numbers at week’s end. The bulls have been pretty adept at fooling the bears into thinking that ‘the pullback’ is here and then buying the dips. Let’s see what happens the first few days of trading. If the bears are really serious about the move on Friday they’ll continue with it early this week.

Free Market Video Jan 28 2011

Jan 28 – After a strong week by the bulls the bears were finally able to get some footing today and claw their way downwards in the markets. This is exactly the type of move I have been waiting for from them. Now if we can just get a couple of consecutive days from the bears without the bulls stepping in and buying the dip then I think “the pullback” will finally be upon us. The market internals were very strong to the bearish side today so, once again, we have a great start but holding the momentum over the weekend may be the bigger problem here.

Jan 27 – Stocks consolidate today in an attempt to hang strong into the end of the month. Internals still show that the bulls have a slight edge here in the short term and after breaking the 1300 area today on the SPX it’s possible investors may try for some of those upper levels. As long as the bulls can keep buying the dips they seem content to let a little bit of bearishness creep into the markets from time to time but not enough to allow a larger move down to happen.

Jan 26 – The FED spoke today and nothing happened…..go figure. Hard to make a move when you’re already at Zero. The DOW is still managing to make new highs but it was the weakest of the Indices today. It’s going to be interesting to see if the bulls can hold things up coming into the the end of the week.

The bears tried their best once again to drag the market down but the bulls refuse to give up. Just when it seems like the bears are gaining some traction incomes the buying and the bears are once again left wondering when they might get their chance. With the sudden run up at the end of the day it appears the bulls may still want to take a shot at that 1300 range. For the time being we’re back in a consolidation and awaiting the next potential entry. None of the lines we have been watching were violated today so it’s still a watch and wait game. AAPL was very strong again today, especially at the end of the day, and is making for the best trading over the past couple days. The financials are not moving as well so FAS and FAZ have not been all that good to trade. Stay with what’s working.

Free Market Video Jan 24 2011

The bears tried to make a run of it last week but after one day into the new week we see the bulls are back to the ‘buy the dips’ mentality. The NASDAQ in particular was VERY strong today as it had bled the most when last week ended. The 20 day Moving Averages held nicely on the SPX and the NASDAQ coming off of last week’s test which would have been a major line to attain for the bears. Seems we may have to wait a bit longer for ‘the pullback’.

Free Market Video Jan 23

Jan 23 – The bears did pretty well last week but one week does not make a market.  The NDX was beat up pretty bad last week but the bulls have been known for buying all the dips lately.  This is absolutely something the bears need to change.  We have to have some confirmation in order for anyone to believe that this is “the pullback”.  Until the buyers are convinced that the market is truly into the pullback the selling can’t accelerate.  We need the buyers to start covering their positions to help drive the markets down and when that happens we should see it in a very broad based fashion across all the sectors.  That’s what I’m looking for this week.

Market Video Jan 21 2011

Just send stuff to info@thestockmentor.com ** The NASDAQ took another pummeling today as it was by far the weakest of the indices.  The DOW is still doing its best to hang on but I’m waiting and wondering if it’s not going to roll over early next week as we’ve seen in the other indices.  My computer crashing and the new site going live have taken most of my time the past two days but overall I really didn’t miss that much from a trading perspective.  The bears at least tried to show some strength this week and I’m looking for more confirmation from them next week.  All this talk about the Bears this week has made me a bit nervous about the football game this weekend.  I’ve heard all kinds of things about the bears in the markets this week but not a lot about the Bears from a football perspective.  That makes me extremely nervous because it always seems to be the team that gets talked about the least that ends up winning which is obviously not good for my Packers!  Talk to you again in the weekend video!

So the new site is up and running! I still have a LOT of work and tweaking to do but over time I really think this is going to be a good move in the bigger picture. Feel free to wander around the site and click on things to make sure the links are all working. I’m having a few problems with Internet Explorer but Firefox and Chrome are working great so far. If you have any problems please let me know and make sure to include which browser you’re using. The new site allows me to cater a bit more to the mobile users out there which has been a heavy request from a lot of my viewers.  Those that have long drives home will now be able to more easily view the videos with this new format.  I’m very excited and believe this new site has an incredible potential for growth.  I hope you guys really enjoy it and keep your eyes peeled for a lot of new features in the coming months!
